AIR14 @ Payerne - Photos

Post by TobyV »

I don't think I need to caption most of these for you guys, save to say that the person speaking is Bertrand Piccard and the silver Vampire is the one that went u/s two weeks ago, so good to see it flying again.

Great shots Toby. The Grippen is a lovely looking aircraft, not quite as menacing as the Viggen, but good lines. Nice to see the PBY too. The Hunter is just one of those aircraft that always works for me, it doesn't look old. The other pictures that are great are the Talons? with the A330. Very reminiscent of the Reds with Concorde and great to see a country taking such pride in its aviation. Many thanks indeed!

Don't recall posting any Gripens *-) Do you mean the tiger-painted one? That's a Rafale.

Flying alongside the A330 are the Patrouille Swiss, they're flying Northrop F-5E Tigers.

Edited for typo and to add more info.

Great pictures Toby. Whose Catalina is that ? I thought it was the Plain Sailing one at first, but unless they've fitted new blisters, it must be a different one.

The small letters near the nose read "Princesse des étoiles", so I suspect it is N9767, which I believe is owned by someone in France.
