Yesterday was the Annual Allied Air Forces Memorial Day at the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington.
As usual I took a coach load of my cadets to assist with the parade, guards of honour and general duties.
On the way there going over Blubberhouses Moor the two Lancasters flew alongside us, I'm guessing on their way to Menwith Hill.
The Sunset Ceremony around the airfield signal square was made more poignant by two Spitfires thundering overhead at what seemed lower than normal- very moving but very, very impressive.
A good day out, if you're nearby- get yourself up there next year.
