As for running into invisible objects.. it is not alone. You get this at both Earthsimulations Alderney (in the harbour area) and at ES Isle of Man.. again in the harbour area. Most annoying.. especially as both these have been out for a long time (years as far as Alderney is concerned) and no fix has been released :|

Let me go and have a look for this one.

EDIT: I thought this was going to be by Team SDB as their scenery isn't compatible with GenX (or variations there of) but I see it's by Steve Anderson of RAF Airfields. This has been on his 'to do' list for years. I thought he'd packed in to be honest with you. Surprised it's only for default scenery (although he's at pains to say there are no default buildings in it).

Team SDB scenery like Steve's ( I know him too grumpyoldb) is developed to be compatible with out of the box FSX . FSX is the yardstick it can't be any other way, we can't be compatible with all the photoscenery developers out there). In fact their scenery is not compatible with ours. They mess with the FSX default mesh and that's a nogo area for Team SDB. Our scenery won't damage your FSX installation. OrbX is the worst culprit in that respect. OK off me box now. :)

MickeyD has it spot on. It's just a pity that Steve isn't allowed onto these forums to answer for himself.

Who woke this up?? Last post September.. next post.. Feb 8)

I hear where you're coming from MD but if no attempt is going to be made to make it compatible with ANY photo scenery (and lets face it.. most FSX users will have GenX at LEAST).. you're losing custom. UK2000's Gary Summons makes his airfields compatible with FS9, default FSX and FSX/GenX and just look how many airfields he pushes out!

You're right about ORBX though.. a wart on the cranium of society

As an aside.. I'd buy ALL the SDB (UK) scenery were it compatible with GenX. No point in going to the expense of buying GenX and Treescapes to have an airfield stick out like a sore thumb. This may work for some.. not for me. Shame because I'm an addon-aholic

I recently got a very good deal on this scenery.
Had to do a few thing to get it functioning.
I imported RAF Abingdon2.bgl and RAF Abingdon4.bgl into ModelConverterX, removed the material references to non-existent lm files and exported with CrashBoxGranularity of 5.
I also imported the AFX file into ADE, swapped runway 7/25 over, added starts and edited the taxi signs accordingly, the one with "mHOLD 2dm5" also needed the dm deleted.
I don't think I did anything else, but I'm sure there's more potential for tweaking.
It's now fine for my purposes.

The Alderney harbour area crash issue is caused by the platforms which can be removed using ModelConverterX.
