What Is It

Post by airboatr »

Aircraft tool WWII circa

On the flats of the handle is "Air Corps"
and hand inscribed along the edge of the tool is 110 AIM (or AFM?)

Hi Joe

Looks like a DZUS tool

for slotted Dzus fasteners that quarter turn.

Regards
Rick

Very logical & better than using the usual tool of a suitable sized coin!

You bu66ers, nobody here all flippin' day, I come in, spot this, think it looks like a
dzus undo-er/tightener.
I scroll down the page and see that everyone and their dog has logged on and beat me to it! :$ :(

Anyway, Joe, they are still making them:

When I was in the RAF, we used a GS on Dzus fasteners.

If it makes you feel any better Mike I was online right when Joe posted it, and I thought it was some sort of one-of-a-kind keepsake. I thought maybe an Air Corps airman (in a moment of sheer boredom) had taken a common item such as a kitchen knife and modified it to look like a bomb or a torpedo.

I admit I didn't really know what it might be.. just that it looked modified in some way. When Rick said it was a DZUS key, it was obvious! Well it is isn't it
