What a fortnight!

Post by PaulC »

Hello All,

I've been very quiet here recently as I have had no time at all whatsoever. I've been on various training/development courses at work, shifts clashing with Mrs C, so no simming at all. Just sleep and work.

As I write this I'm flying my FS Labs Concorde at M2 down the coast of Italy towards Bahrain, the first time the sims been on for months.

As we'd been solidly working for months, Mrs C and I decided to book a last minute break to Portugal as we have no leave off again together until April.

All went well until day three when my little lad who goes 2 in January became really unwell. Mrs C being an A&E nurse flew into action spotting bacterial meningitis and we were at hospital as fast as you like.
10 days later, we made it home and thanks to my wife's fast reaction he appears to have no lasting damage although it's early days.

So much for a break!

I have to say the Portuguese people and healthcare was amazing and we'll certainly be returning there.
Makes you think though, we've both decided to slow down a little and the wake up call may do us good.

Main thing is he's ok, we're back (a week late) and just need another holiday now!!

Paul

Phew!!! Meningitis...very bad news but v. good Mrs C spotted the early symptoms. Our local Doctors husband also an optical doc, had meningitis a couple of weeks back & after about 48 hrs on anti biotics was better again, again well spotted of course, but for a layman.........
Hope your boy has a full recovery.

Yikes! Nothing like events such as this to realign your compass. *phew* Paul I'm so happy that your boy is on the rebound. May he have a full and speedy recovery. :agree:

Well spotted Mrs C. Glad the little 'un is doing OK. It must have been a very anxious time for you.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Paul. That'll be one "holiday" you won't forget.
Our children remain precious, and no matter how old they get, you can't stop parenting them.
Best wishes and Good Health to all of you.
Cheers, Mike.
