Video: Gulf Oil Commercial

Post by FlyTexas »

Just this morning I was sailing with FSX tankers in Alaska and this song came into my head. It's funny how TV tunes can stay stuck in your head for years. Does anyone else remember this TV commercial?

Nope...I doubt we ever got the advert locally as there has never been a Gulf Oil Brand were I lived *-)

Yep, I remember seeing the commercial. :) One of the replies written on youtube mentioned seeing the commercial during TV coverage of Apollo moon missions. That must be from where I've seen the commercial. Although the 'www.gulfoil.com' flash seen at the end of the commercial was added recently I assume.

Ooh that brings back a few memories having been a Deck Cadet and Junior officer on Shell Tankers in the 70s-80s. We did take oil into Banrty Bay on one trip.

It was a great life as a single man but ended in redundancy in 83 with most of the British fleets cutting back on tonnage.

Thanks for that little piece of nostalgia.
