Have you tried GOG?

Post by DogTailRed2 »

https://www.gog.com/

I stumbled across this site while looking for an old classic `Dungeon Keeper`. For £1.89 I found Dungeon Keeper, downloaded and it runs fine on a Win 7 64 PC.
I then downloaded Blood (another of my old time favorites) probably one of the best FPS's ever made.
If you can accept their age, live with the oldish graphics and want to relieve a time when game play was more important than eye candy there is a wealth of cheap games to download.
They even have the complete IL2 Sturmovik for £3. (IMHO still outclasses the failed COD even with it's impressive graphics).
Some of these games can be found and downloaded for free but it's quite a faff getting them to work with dosbox and patched correctly. £3 seems a small price for convenience.
Looking forward to another all time classic `Alien v Predator` out soon.

Ted.

Commanche Vs Hokum would be worthy too, some fantastic mods were done to that one to update the graphics. I still have my original discs (and Apache Havoc) and it is still good indepth stuff. Don't think Falcon 4 is there but if any of you still have the original disc, it was upped to FalconBMS and is imo the most in depth sim yet produced. I am resting from MSFS at the moment and spend most time relearning Falcon, it's an uphill struggle but very satisfying when I get it right. :OT:

I liked Falcon 4 but spent most of my time under a canopy
Janes F15 was my favorite as it was just `easy` enough to survive but not too easy that you could let your guard down.

For Dogtail Red2: Try Falcon 4.32 BMS soon to be updated to Falcon 4.33. A free download. Website is Benchmark Sims. A very realistic sim developed and updated by enthusiasts from the original Microprose 1998 Falcon 4.

Am I invisible? Sometimes I wonder, often the Mrs. talks about me as if I wasn't there. *-)
