Oh dear!!

Asks for unusual route and the disappears.

Hopefully it ends OK... the request may have just simply been a weather issue.

Given the date, it is likely to be mostly Christmas holiday or family visit traffic on these flights

That was the reason given for the change in flight plan. Weather.

That's three Malaysian airliners gone since March of this year.

TBH the headline is misleading. He asked to climb to FL380 to fly over a weather system. That's pretty standard stuff.

Yes, and its pretty standard that it's something you should not do. This applies particularly near what in my day was called the inter-tropical front but which I think is now called the, or a , convergence zone ( sadly its now well more than 40 years since I did my climatology exams ) . The problem is that in the equatorial regions the cloud climbs faster - and further - than you can, and the nastiest turbulence- or more realistically updraft/downdraft regions are in the higher levels . I have the saddest feeling about this one , because it is all too suggestive that it is yet another case of weather avoidance radar being used as frontal penetration radar

Thanks Joe.

That info was not through when I read it but it seemed the most obvious

Let us hope they find this aircraft,

Last week i have been looking on the Australian News sites for any up-dates for MH370 but still no leads at the moment,

Roger.

Am I missing something here or is the posting of a repaint within hours (with reference to the missing aircraft in the text so it is not a coincidence) of the report at Simviation in poor taste. To me it is unseemly. I remember similar happening after the Malaysian flight. People are so callous these days. I could of course be out of step and in need of re-orientation in my morals.

No Alex, I don't think your comment is at all off base. Posting a repaint of the missing aircraft was thoughtless at best and shows a callous disregard for common decency. At lest in my book it does.

Nothing wrong with your morals Alex, unfortunately it seems that morals are no longer a priority with the younger generation!!.

Personally I think that article lacks common decency!!!
