Hi Dave,

We hear it on the tv broadcast of the launch.. it takes about.. 40 sec or so before I see it pop up through the trees. Unfortunately
It's a silent experience .

I've witnessed two shuttle launches from the press viewing area and It's very loud

It's .. hard too describe.. you feel it for a sec or so before you hear it.


After it's gone, there is another sound .. hundreds of car alarms blaring for their owners.

Ah yes.. nothing like a bit of vibration to set the alarms off
