My latest toy

Post by Paul K »

Yep, the PMDG Nimrod MR5. Now waiting for a not-so 'what if' RAF repaint. 8)

Apologies to Ben...

Gawd, I'm on a runaway add-on train at the moment. To hell with mortgage, food and lecky bills.

Well, the weekend has about 12 hours left to run, and anything could happen in that time.

I'm very pleased with the PMDG NGX package, and the Poseidon is an unexpected bonus. I've done a couple of take-offs and cruised about in it, and it's all very straight forward - more so than the MD-11, though I love that plane equally. The Operations Centre that comes with the NGX is excellent for installing repaints, updates and so on. I'm hoping a Singapore Airlines repaint is available somewhere. :)

Indeed.. I just bought the Virtavia Helix :wall:

Looking at the prices of some of the Virtavia models.. I reckon Phil must have taken to wearing a mask and a black & white stripey shirt. To say the Helix is poor inside would be an understatement. The price however isn't too painful in the sale even though it's only got 10% off. Some of the stuff there is a downright ripoff. How the hell they've not been released free by now is beyond me. I still wince when I look at the Dauphin. I think I bought that at 50% off and that's nowhere near enough. It's at 10% off in this sale and still over $30. There are other 'bloomers' of note too but I suddenly feel ill

You should know better by now Dave.
I must admit, I do like the PMDG NGX :hide:
I had it for FSX, and now I've bought it again for P3d. Not got the 600/700 expansion pack yet, but will do at some point.

I should but just to make sure, I bought the Canberra B2. If there's one thing about these old dogs, they're mercifully painless on FR's and you don't need a manual for anything  DON'T look inside though 8)

  Priceless !

I agree, a lot of the old Alphasim / Virtavia stuff isn't of merchantable quality any more - I think thats the legal term, anyway. I don't think it does their reputation much good, overall.

DaveG - glad you've got the NGX too. Rather impressive isn't it ! :)

Dave G, as you have the NGX, if you spot a Singapore Airlines livery for any or all of the NGX models, can you let me know ? I'm searching for some at the moment, but no luck so far.

Thanks Dave. I've trawled through the Avsim library, where there seems to be hundreds of repaints for the NGX, factual and fictional, but none for S.A. :(
