AT THE BACK OF THE HANGAR - PART TWO
Work has been progressing steadily on the D.H. 84 Dragons. Here's the latest shot of the MK2 version shown without spats -
This particular aircraft was once well known flying around the country offering scenic flights. It was sold later to America.
I have a couple of queries - a) do the undercarriage legs look too long ? and b) some photos show the fuselage underside painted red ( as see here) and others show it white. I prefer the red version but ...
Not too much work left now before it'll be time for first some beta testing then release

Dave, I would say the legs are too long....looking on google pics the gap between the top of the tyre & the bottom of the engine cowl is less than the radius of the tyre. Yours seems to be about a tyre diameter. The Angle of dangle - fuse datum to ground - is therefore too great.

I'm not fussed about the underside.. happy with either red or white
Agree with Keith re the leg length. Iooking at the shots I have.. I'd say the gap between the top of the tyre to the cowling is perhaps no more than the actual depth of the tyre.. that is, from the top of the tyre to the rim. The gap is of course smaller still on the mudguard version

So, after a bit of work this morning, I've now dropped the aircraft down to what I now think is the correct height -
'All' I've got to do now is adjust the other two varients the same and I'll be back on course with the finishing-off work.
Not too long now - mu wife says I just want to hang on to it .. .

Never finished ? how true Dave
But I'm getting nearer - here's a shot of the last of the varients - the basic MK1.
It's painted in Hillmans Airways colours - appropriate because they commisioned the first Dragon and had a total of 6 in their fleet.
Just got to tidy up etc. and it'll be good to go.
