I'm sick to death of the election coverage in the UK at the moment, almost to the exclusion of anything else that is actually newsworthy, so when I saw this article on the BBC today, it really did make me laugh out loud....

We have an election soon also (May 12 if I remember correctly), except (at least here in BC) you wouldn't know it, nobody seems to care and there are barely any mentions on the news. We don't get canvassing, advertising, leaflets through the door, nothing nada, thank heavens. You really have to seek out info if you are at all interested. Perhaps all out politicians are just too bland to pay any heed to (and oh boy! are they a dull bunch). Maybe it is different in Ontario (Tako may know) as they are closer to the hub.

Maybe it is different in Ontario (Tako may know) as they are closer to the hub.

It's been fairly quiet so far but I have zero interest so haven't been paying that much attention to be honest. I haven't voted in over 35 years as I gave up voting in the UK when I realized non of the candidates or parties were worthy of my vote and since I moved to Canada I am not allowed to vote so that makes things easy.

Part of the reason it's been quiet could be that Ontario doesn't allow early canvassing or sign posting as there is a cut-off point of 22 days before an election. Once the limit has passed it goes crazy with yard and street signs popping up everywhere.

My wife did answer a phone call a couple of weeks ago which was from one of the major parties looking for donations but she told them that as she had never voted for them and never intended to vote for them she didn't see the point in supporting their efforts, all she heard then was a click in her ear!
