Yes, along with every other bored, disillusioned member of the British electorate, I'll be making my mark on the ballot paper - not for the best candidate, but, as ever, the least worst. Some will call it democracy at its most magnificent, some will even think it historic, heroic even. Others will call it an opportunity to select the next bunch of uninspiring wafflers who will blame circumstance when it goes wrong, claim the credit if it goes right, and once again try to bribe us in 5 years time. By then, the navy will be down to one aircraft carrier and a tug to tow it, the army a battalion, and Cambridge Flying Club will have won the PFI maritime patrol contract for the Suffolk coast. And the NHS will still not have been saved.
Right then, I'm off to the polling station - because my vote makes a difference, you know.
