Little Philae has woken

Post by Kevin Farnell »

Our cutest little lander - Philae, has woken from it's slumbers on Comet 67P :excited: .

It tweeted "Hello Earth! Can you hear me?", after several months of inactivity.

Also, loved the cartoon on the BBC website -

Hopefully, it'll pick up enough charge while it's near the sun, to crawl out of the hole into whic :agree: h it fell in during landing.
Cheers, Mike.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's mobile Mike.
It was designed to anchor itself to the ground on landing due to the very low gravity.
Pictures show it has no wheels.
I'm sure plenty of interesting information will come from it in the time it has in the sunlight.
Perhaps it will find these guys -
