Mossie

Post by Dev One »

Just heard & I think I've just seen a Mossie fly over my house at 16:15 local! Wonder where its off to going SE at not a great height, maybe 1500 to 2000'
Keith

Edit: looks as if its on its way to Sarlat in the Dordogne for tomorrow, - its a 4 hour drive from me. Not in France on a holiday weekend, they reported 900 km of traffic jams yesterday!!!

There is a 3/4 scale flying Mosquito which carries two crew and was built by a group of French enthusiasts, in honour of a French Wing Commander who was killed in a Mosquito during WW2 while taking part in a shipping strike off the Norwegian coast. That 3/4 scale aircraft visited the UK last year - Hull?

That could possibly answer the not quite right engine sound then. Thanks for that!

3/4 scale?
I guess a 9 cylinder RR engine would sound a bit odd. :wasntme:

Hobby, thank you for finding that video, very interesting. Note that he almost ground looped it on the first landing trying a 3 pointer......not a thing to do on some DH types.
