... that the F-4J(UK) Phantoms used by the Royal Air Force were so different from other British Phantoms, they even required crews to wear American flying helmets?

Well, I didn't. Found this on Wikipedia today ...

I didn't know that, but I did recently mention the $770,000 "customised" helmets to be worn by Australian pilots of the F-35s.
