I think was a Chipmunk would be a better description looking at the engine and fin :lol:

IIRC the second one also had retracting gear too, possibly into nacelles under the wing a bit like the P40 gear operated with a 90° twist as it went up.

Is that the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles? I managed to persuade SWMBO that it would be a good end to a holiday to the Mid Atlantic States before we flew out of Dulles.If so, there is a mean looking SR-71 pretty much under where the photo was taken.

We were wandering round when a guide came by with some locals who were not too impressed by the fact that the Concorde was a product of Europe, while the US never got past a mockup for about the same investment. :poke:

But then we must bow down before the 737 with winglets, must we not? :hide:
