Thing is, John had been entering the NZFF Screenshot comp forever, without success...he posted his entry for the July comp right at the start of the month, and in the voting his pic won, first time ever. When Doug who runs the comp tried to contact him, he got the sad news that John had passed away just a few days after posting his entry. He certainly went out on triumphant note - and those who knew him far better than I did reckon that was completely in character.

Ahh.. thanks for that Mike ;) A cruel irony he never got to receive the kudos his winning shot deserved while down here among us but I'm sure he has a smile on his face now :thumbsup:
