Also, the anniversary of the start of the Second World War in 1939. By co-incidence, that also ties in with the second birthday of my late beloved Father.

Sounds like he was on another ship when he was sunk. Makes sense, as he's in uniform, while the Chiverstone was a freighter.

Have searched lists of ships sunk in WWI, but could not find Chiverston or Chiverston Cardiff.
Tried searching for any ship called Chiverston, but Google found Chiverton by the truckload.
