I saw that story on the world nightly news (U.S. version) ... I thought I heard,, because I was making up the dogs food in the kitchen, there are many other aircraft of the war gathering for the event.?
and also mention of some of the early U.S. servicemen who flew RAF fighters disguised as ... Canadians!
because it was illegal for U.S. citizens to fight with the Brits against the Germans....
Thanks for that Peter!
Now I see the full story, I see what they meant by the largest gathering.
On local TV, they showed just four Spitfires flying, with the same description.
Still too much instrumental music, and not enough Merlin Music for my liking. I can see that I'll just have to buy one for myself.
Well I found the Battle of Britain march to be just perfect for the background for that video. I also find it very inspiring in the "Batle of Britain" film. I thought that on that video they got the right mix of music and engine sound...I don't normally like music on aeroplane videos but with the Film being such a great film and so inspiring, I felt much of the same feeling that I have from the Film when watching that video.
