Despite it's faults, I do like it. :)
Thought I'd try a repaint, after all, how hard can it be? :wall:

Really looking forward to putting the logo on the tail. 8)

None thus far mate. In fact here (other than Nev) is the only place anything vaguely non-complimentary has been posted (though Markus also noted the lack of friendliness of the PK and model). I'm guessing they're waiting for the flow of tickets to stop then address them with an SP. That's my hope anyway

If you're considering buying with a view to throwing paints at it.. I'll point out that the rudder is on a different map to the fin. This in itself over complicates matters more than is necessary but aside from that.. there is a disparity with either the rudder map itself or the model and the fin. For example.. the blue line you see on the HMS HERON paint was first done on the fin then the same blue line dragged across to the rudder map. So far so good?? Well, no. When it hits the rudder map, the size changes slightly so I had to spend an inordinate amount of time not only getting the lines to line-up but to be the same size. You can imagine how much fun this is with text. Type HMS HERON on the fin map.. drag it over to the rudder map and it changes size :wall: You could do it the other way round of course but the end result would be the same. I can't get HMS HERON on the LH side to look right no matter what I do so until such time as I retire and have nothing better to do.. it will remain unfinished and unreleased.
Much of the detail you see on the paints is missing from the PK.. on the wings in particular. I also note the AE under the left wing is missing. There's a fair amount of detail that could be questioned but like DG.. I still like the model.

Whoever was responsible for the mapping needs a good spanking.
As Dave says, the rudder on a separate sheet to the fin, and a different scale. The left and right halves of the rudder are arranged next to each other, so you would think you could paint a stripe straight across both, but no, one side is about 5 pixels higher than the other. 8) The curved leading edge of the rudder is mapped with the RH side, despite being partly visible from the LH side of the aircraft. It's fine if you've got a solid colour tail, or simple stripes, but any logo or text falling on that area can cause real issues. :wall:

Noting Bazzars comments about PK's in the past.. anyone trying to use this one would be forgiven for assuming he'd done it like this just to pi$$ folk off. I thought the Hurricane PK was rubbish as the detail and dirt layers are 'one' but the Dove's is equally frustrating 8) My lid is very definitely 'doffed' to those with the strength of character to 'take it on'!!

Nice to see you have 'Eaglet' on the go Dave G! I am currently working on the Hawker Siddeley scheme that I put on the FR Heron. As mentioned the paintkit is somewhat challenging! I guess Bazzar does not want a raft of quickly banged -out paints circulating! BTW the Jordanian paint should be applied to the Dove 8 not the 6. I did not have the guts to say it on SOH as some worthies there would probably have a go at me for sour grapes!

 Peter

The difference in scale is by factor 1,118, so it's quite smart to paint the ("larger") fin first and resize its texture by factor 0,894 to apply to the rudder.
Considering the mapping, there obviously was no need to create those parts in different scales, as well as the slight shift in height (5 px) between both rudder sides doesn't make any sense at all - apart from annoying repainters...
Aligning the fin and rudder textures wasn't too funny, but what really drove me bonkers was the nose section with its seperate and distorted upper part. Getting a straight (still slightly blurred) cheatline instead of an overall black antiglare coating required a considerable amount of try and error.

Nevertheless, Channel's G-ANVU (1970 version) is already on its way - no nose cheatline required...:
