I bought from PCA, and when my s/n was rejected, they said you have to be online to do the install.

btw, my copy came with a triple switcher for FD. Did everyone get that, or did it follow the complaints?
The 3 flavours are: Original; Standard; Alternative. Computer is suffering from the heat, I think.
Haven't had time to change, launch and test over again.

The multiple FDs came with the service pack. I'd stick with "standard" if I were you.

Yepp, I'd agree with that the "standard" FD that came with the service pack is fine.

In Asda this morning with the wife to do our weekly shop and as alemaobaiano informed in his post that PC Aviator was selling this at reduced price I decided to buy whilst waiting for her ladyship. 8) Equally and knowing my luck if I left it any longer I might miss this offer anyway, after purchase and with free wifi in Asda I downloaded, talk about slow but felt the wait would be worth it however at 90% download it all went pear shaped and failed.

Not to be outdone I then went to Sainsbury with Babs and went into the cafe and tried there, again failed to download. :wall: though the coffee and scone with jam and cream helped me digest my frustration.

After dropping off Babs at home then came to the library knowing that usually you cannot download anything with an exe file but decided to try......... Whoppee.....am getting the download as I type!! :welldone: :excited: Now all I need is the update from Just Flight or will the download already have that in? Really looking forward to flying this a/c when I get home.

Kind regards
Nigel.

You are so cheap!!

The model should already be patched. Next time you're in Asda.. go back to the JF site and it will probably say that the SP isn't needed if you bought the product after XX XX XXXX which you did ;)

Hi Dave, many thanks checked it out when I was in the library yesterday and thankfully it is.

Now here comes the crunch.

Mike wrote:

Thought that he might have had a little hiccup on his install but when I tried to install it I got:

Unable to confirm a valid purchase of the product in your customer account.

Setup will now Terminate
:wall: :wall:

So now Babs has suggested that we go to Tesco and buy a Dongle which I we will do this afternoon, have already set computer up for internet apart from anti-virus which I will download but will only use the dongle until it runs out then buy more internet time when I need it. If used regularly it is more expensive than having a Broadband Connection but for situations such as the one I have found myself in then I suppose it is a quick get around.

Why oh why do not Just Flight and some other companies not cater for those who do not have internet? at least with Flightsimstore and for that matter Capt Sim they do have off-line validation available, I know that companies have to protect themselves from piracy but with technology being as it is there is always a way found to beat security if you have the knowledge or software to do it!

Anyway, enough of the moans, just going to read up the best freeware anti-virus for 2016 from PC Advisor and see what they recommend.

Kind regards
Nigel.

Nigel..

What OS are you on and what are you going to use to connect to the internet.. eg, a laptop or tablet? If it's a laptop with a Windows OS.. just download Microsoft Security Essentials (if it's not already there). Its free and it works. If it's a tablet with a non-Windows OS.. I dunno  In any case.. I think you can guarantee you won't get any bugs from Just Flight ;)

EDIT: If you're fitting the dongle to your pc at home (which I presume you are now I think about it).. then set the dongle up.. download MSE and install (it won't take long) then run the setup again. You will only have to do this once if the activation is on the pc which has the software (eg, the model). Once it's been de-scrambled.. you can install and uninstall as many times as you like unless your pc settings change.. new OS.. new drives.. that sort of thing.

Hi Dave, many thanks for your reply and advice. I have a desk top PC with Win7 and have already fired up Windows Defender and the Firewall just anti virus which will be Avast as it has had such a good review from PC Advisor.

Obviously there will be updates to Microsoft Security Essentials but hopefully that along with Avast will not take too much out from the allowance on the Dongle.

I know that there is very little chance of anything from Just Flight being infected just want the anti virus just in case.

Hopefully will be online tonight for a short while.

Regards
Nigel.

If you have MSE.. you won't need Avast. Unless anything drastic happens.. MSE will have an update monthly along with your other Windows updates. The virus definitions will change as new viruses appear but that will happen in the background.

I have Avast free on my WinXP pc and it's a pain in the arse. It offers me this and that every time I start that pc up and it won't do what it says it can do (eg, free up space and run various checks) without you paying for the privilege. Thank god I don't use that pc very often!!

Thanks Dave, will do as you suggest and stick wholly with MSE.

Many thanks again.
