Inside the world's largest cave.

Post by Paul K »

On the Daily Telegraph's website today :

Obviously there has to be a 'biggest' cave somewhere in the world, but I never imagined it was that big. And only discovered in 1991, too. :-O

Wow, thanks, Paul, but........

"Even clouds form inside the beautiful echoing tavern, which is tall enough to fit a 40-storey skyscraper inside."
I've seen clouds in pubs, but not since they banned smoking. :hide:

AND....there's an even bigger one in Australia, it's so big, the floor is hundreds of feet above ground, and the sides are so far away that you can't even see them, and, and and, and :help:
Cheers, Mike.

Continuing the subterranean theme, the world's longest and deepest railway tunnel is about to be opened in Switzerland:

Perhaps Toby V. can get us some pictures when he's next out and about. ;)

Hi Paul,

I was reminded of your thread last night at a Whole Foods Grocery.
Gathering some vittles in the cafeteria I saw some bottled water that comes from 2 miles deep.
Starkey Water.

11,000 years old they claim *-) .. Anyway, I bought some, and I have to say it tasted like no other water I've had.
Hard to put into words... it has no taste to it at all
Like drinking.. air?
But, really really wet air. :S

Surely, all water is very nearly as old as the planet isn't it? Don't know where they make it otherwise. And think how many times its been recycled through all those billions of Earth's inhabitants!

Hi Joe,
May we ask; how much per litre was it?

Hi Keith,
I'd say that you're right, though maybe burning hydrogen in air might make some *-) .....maybe via hydrogen bombs? :dunno:

Hey, Joe
Does the ingredients label give you a Geiger reading along with the Ph? :worried:

BTW
I 8) when I read the 11,000 years old..
Of course all water is as old as earth.. Drank - pee'd out, runs into a lake, evaporates, get rained down again
drank and pee'd out again and over and over.
But last night, whilst you were drinking pee water with your yorkshire tea, I was drinking pure unpee'd water
Protected from pee for the last 11,000 years.! . :)
