I set off on leg one today, from Milford Sound to Ardmore...


It was 560 nms and...


...I burned 280 gallons...


...that works out at 2nms per gallon!


This one shows various popups in use.


Ardmore turned out to be very basic...I was sure I had a full version in v 2.? but it could have been in FSX...I'll look into it

They all look better when clicked for Full Size...You can even read the small print!

From those shots that water looks great especially for a dip!

Quite an amount of fuel that you are going to be using then for your RTW trip Peter but so far so good.
Keep us posted as to further flights.

BTW, have you worked out how long this is all going to take?

No I haven't Nigel, but I have done a couple of RTWs before but I expect this to take longer. I'm planning it as I go along and hoping that the scenery will be pleasant to look at. I want to keep real weather on all the legs and I'm using OpusFSI for that...I quite like what I've seen of the weather so far and don't want to overload my machine with "Weather Extras". I'm hoping to do Leg2 tomorrow or the next day. (Ardmore to Sydney, so a long ocean crossing).

Don't think that I could do a RTW flight as most of my flights are around the one hour mark which I much prefer.
