I must be out of touch. All this high octane drama going on around me and I'm oblivious to it.
Mark Radcliffe on BBC 6 Music has recently been playing the opening title song of 'Sing Something Simple' which us of a certain age will remember. It brings back memories of sitting in a chilly RAF married quarter, bathed, pyjamad and contemplating the start of another school week, while my dad polished his shoes and made cocoa for him and my mum. More dreariness.
Indeed, BBC 6 Music, and quite an education it is too. So much so that I've stopped banging on about the 'good old days' of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc and started enjoying the more contemporary stuff. And my elder daughter was wished a Happy Birthday this afternoon on the Radcliffe and Maconie show - she was at home right next to the radio when it came on.
It get's worse, Mike. Until recently there was a BBC 7! It's now been renamed BBC Radio 4 Extra and currently competes with BBC Radio 3 for my listening hours.

I wish, Mike. No, it was another bout of poor helth which started back in April and during the intervening 5 months I've had every blood test known to man, CAT scans of the trunk and brain (could have told them there was nothing to see there!) and seen 6 different specialists all without discovering just what the problem is. However, a week or so ago, for no apparent reason, the symptoms started to ease and I've been feeling a little better so I thought I'd celebrate by posting on my favourite forum. If the improvement keeps up I'll be back making radio programmes soon.

Wots VHF? We used to listen to the Jingles just before the 1 o'clock news either in 330 MW or 1500 Long wave. A few years later it was then 208 MW in between the static....
