I don't want this again PGA photo

Post by Airspeed »

Thursday afternoon, I heard a strange wailing coming from the house.
I came up from the shed and my insides turned as I realised it was Mrs Airspeed, not one of the animals or chooks.
I never want to hear that again.
When I approached the laundry door, I saw her propped against the door frame, streaming blood.
I never want to see that again.
The laundry and passageway looked like a murder scene, pool of blood where she fell, smears from her hands as she had stumbled to the door.
I never want to see that again.
It eventuated that she had tripped on the metal carpet edge strip and hit the slate tiled floor head first.
The doctor has confirmed a broken nose, but apparently no other lasting damage. We've been told to look out for any vision impairment, numbness and dizziness.
It's incredible how a normal day can change in seconds.

Dear me, wish her well- heads and solid floors don't mix well.

Yikes ! When I first saw that photo, I thought someone had put red felt-tip on a pair of binoculars and invited Mrs. Airspeed to try them out. I hope she's better soon.

Oooow! that looks really nasty. I hope she recovers quickly, but she's going to have two real 'shiners'.
As Dave says, take care of her and see if that carpet edge strip needs fixing.

Sorry to hear about Mrs Airspeed's fall,

Look after her Mike,

Mike, Oh that looks very nasty! Please look after Mrs. A and tell her we all wish her a very speedy recovery. Hopefully "It's only a flesh wound!"

That looks nasty, and I would have shared your panic on seeing that. Glad to hear mrs airspeed is not seriously hurt. Take good care of her.

Hi Everyone,
Many thanks from Mrs A and me for your kind words.
She's always been happy that I chat with such a nice bunch of blokes, and you've just confirmed that again.
She told me today that she doesn't think it was the strip after all, judging by where she hit the floor, and that there were no parts of the strip that she could repeat the catch on. She's decided that it was probably just the texture in the slate tiles themselves, and though she's traversed them countless times over 14 years, she just got unlucky.

I've also had the farrier check the nails in her shoes, and there's no problem there, either. :hide:
Cheers, Mike.
