I am assuming that permission was given for this: -

I get 'No search results' when I click that link. I don't know what was there, but perhaps someone has seen the light already.

It's an FSX 'update' to DM's Super VC10's by Bob Chicilo.. a prolific 'fixer' of many years. He says in the readme he tried to contact David but the email address was out of date. The one on DM's website works.. maybe that would have been a good place to start 8)

I remember Gary Russell making some very pointed comments about Mr Chicilo's efforts. The last named is one of several "improvers", the sight of whose names is enough to turn me off their offering. There is a child on SOH who thinks he can create FSX native models by running FS9 products through a converter. There is another with the same first name as mine, mostly on Flightsim.com - I tried a couple of his 'improvements' to highly respected developers' offerings and they were total failures. Good to see Nels rejecting the rubbish.

It's not been removed/rejected Mike.. it's still there.. New Files/FSX Only page 3.

Agree 100% with your comments. None of the so called 'improvements' I've ever downloaded have lasted more than one flight before ending up in file 13.

You can, I've done it with several FS9 models. Some convert better than others, but generally it's possible.

It is but I think the person Mike was aiming at produces and releases less than satisfactory conversions. He seemed to be kicking a new conversion out every few days at one point and while they were all now FSX native.. they were mostly crap

That's the one Dave.

I have to admit to trying a couple myself and then rejecting them. I only have to see the name now and say no thanks.

Yes, merely converting the model doesn't make it any good. If it's a crap FS9 model, then it'll be a crap FSX model.

Has anyone asked David Maltby what his views are on this? I don't know if he visits this corner of the forum.
