Rooting through my father in laws stuff I came across the following that I thought might interest folk here.

First is a memorial card from the R101 disaster....

Particularly like the quote from a card in the second group, "The Aerial Signal Box", "The Control Tower at Croydon handles daily over 60 air liners...." Different days.... :)

By coincidence, I read that very same card back; I clicked for an enlargement of the front, was taken to Photobucket, and another click moved me forward. Read it with a magnifying glass, (eyes struggled with the small print!)

I seem to remember that the R101 was loaded, at the last moment before leaving, with a large and very heavy rolled carpet...
