I was given an impromptu invitation to view a private collection of motor cars before inspecting some electrical work that needed attention.. what a privilege to see this collection of cars tucked away in a remote area of Palm Beach County.
I was allowed to roam -at leisure ....

I asked
"May I take pictures to share with some friends"?,.
"Whatever you like" , he said.

Great photos of a great collection. Sad to read it's a private collection, I'd love to own just one of those cars (with the exception of the wood panelled one).
As for the first car I drove, what are the rules? I remember as a child, sitting on my Fathers lap, steering whilst he operated the pedals (this was on extremely quiet country roads!). Later, around the age of 14, we used to go away for holidays with our caravan. Occasionally, my Dad would give me the keys to his 2.3L V6 Ford Granada and I would pootle around the campsite (I'm sure that wouldn't be allowed these days!). Finally gaining my driving licence, I used to Drive my Mothers Fiat 126. Whenever friends asked what I drove, my reply was - 'Well, it's a red Italian two door coupe, with a rear mounted 'flat' engine'.

Swap 'Brother' for 'Father' and it sounds incredibly close to my first experience of 'driving'. Happy memories!

I'd say the tyres for just a couple of those machines would buy my entire aircraft bits collection.

I'm Keith.........
My first drive was similar, on my fathers lap in a Morris 8 - the one that broke its back easily. My first controlled(?) drive was around the Blackbushe Peritrack in a later monocoque Morris 8 when I was about 14. My first car that I owned was a Morris 'Cammy' Minor 1931 vintage, 3 speed crash box & 20% efficient brakes.
Now if that collection of cars in the photos above were sold - could he outbid Donald Trump with the proceeds I wonder?
