Hello,
I've tried many methods over the years but keeping them in the car is my favourite. We can talk without them hearing/seeing and as mentioned- they're much easier to control should they decide to "get lively"!
That said- for searching they come out, and also if we're going to be interviewing them or arresting, then they'll be coming out but keeping them put is easier to begin with. Its my standard starting point.
Thanks chaps, its nice to know we're appreciated.
Paul

Re: TV Appearance Again
Do you know what seasons you are in Paul? We've been searching YouTube for you but although we have sampled most years/seasons (and there are lots of them) we don't think we've found you yet.
It was 'Traffic Cops' you in were in wasn't it?

I've always got them out of the car, Nothing worse than trying to cuff someone who's refusing to get out of a car if they play up.Vancouver wrote:Ohhhh the times I have found certain substances which would have gone unnoticed had they not got out the drivers seat, and on one occasion that certain something was an UZI. Much safer to get them out. Hard to ruin away too with 16 stone clinging onto you.Nigel H-J wrote:Alex, Paul will correct me if I am wrong but if they are put into a car, should they decide to kick off they can be easily restrained whereas outside of a vehicle there can be a greater risk to the safety of the offender (so who should worry about that you may ask)and of course the officers, not to mention that he/she might try to suddenly run off and that could produce more problems if they run across a busy road and be hit be a vehicle!

Outside the car I can see their hands and get a feel of their demeanor, Also get to look in those eyes, Dilated pupils an all that.

Re: TV Appearance Again
We finally caught an episode with you in it on YouTube last night Paul. It was the one covering the cloned plates problem but it appeared that you had an amusing side story concerning an express pizza driver who decided to read you the menu rather than listen to what you had to say. How you kept a straight face I don't know because we were howling at his stupid antics.

It was more how I kept my patience! He was a complete moron.
The Take Away shop had to put things on their Facebook site after the programme was aired apologising as people started ringing up and boycotting them!

Brilliant, marvellous what publicity can do to ensure justice is done and I bet the driver concerned received the owners' piece of mind to boot!
I also watched that when it was aired and to be honest, my patience would have run out far sooner.
Drivers' attitudes nowadays are becoming worse than ever, had one incident whereby a van driver in the nearside lane which was clearly marked on the road for left turn only at the traffic light pulled straight across without indicating forcing me to brake, I had sounded my horn as a warning to let him know of my presence and in turn he gave me a violent brake test.
Silly boy, for I always have my dash cam operating in the car and when got home I produced a DVD copy of it and sent it straight to his company with a warning that if ever there was a next time it will go to the traffic policing unit. (Not as though I would anyway but they wouldn't know that)!
Don't know what happened as I did not give my details. Coward? no, I may have got an apology but know it would be in the form of "The driver concerned has been spoken to and warned that any further transgressions will be met with......."
I am not at all interested but as far as I am concerned, this was a much better way of dealing with it than having an argument there and then, something that I always steer well clear of!

Nigel.
