Nostalgia...

Post by petermcleland »

I reprocessed a video I made about 5 years ago...It is the first I have done in Windows 10 and Video Enhancer 2.

I rather enjoy watching how my old airport used to be and also the rather hair raising Whale Watching!

Wow Peter, that was some whale watching! Just liked the way they came up and rolled over. Just one problem I found was that there were other videos' that took my liking and it was some time later before I realized that I had yet to reply to this.

Regards
Nigel.

The details Joe!...Well it is FS9 and I placed the pods of whales with the seagulls over them in Russell Fiord...One pod just outside the McLeland Field bay near where the waiting cruise ship anchors (only room for one in the cruise ship anchorage). The ship that waits there in this video is only just glimpsed once and it is the QM2. The ship in the proper anchorage in the bay is the Royal Carribean "Freedom of the Seas".Freedom will up anchor and leave at midnight and on the way out of the bay with be passed by the QM2 as she comes in...The other pod of whales is much further out along the Russell Fiord near the front edge of the Hubbard Glacier.

Next after clambering over the saddle the seaplane visits Mountain Lake...I put the little cabins, pontoons and seagulls in there and there is a regular floatplane service from McLeland Field for the fishermen. Then out of Mountain Lake to McLeland Field on the bay at the end of Russell Fiord...This is where I built my airport...Things seen from the Seaplane before it touches down are "Freedom of the Seas", a pair of Fishing Trawlers on the long pontoon, a grockle boat crossing the bay, a fancy motor boat leaving the marina for a voyage out to the open sea and on the marina a conspicuous sailing boat which is a fine model of a well known French sailing boat, "Etoile"...It has a lot of sails set and sails mostly round the bay.

I made the video clips with Fraps and put them together with "Ulead Video Studio 11.5" and enhanced it with Video Enhancer 2 in Windows 10. :agree:

Glad you enjoyed it Nigel...I'm rather pleased with it myself but I made it years ago when my airport was a busy and happy place :agree:

Some years ago it was not global warming that caused a problem...It was the advancing Hubbard Glacier...It closed off Russell Fiord and it became Russell Lake. Then with all the rivers running into it, the level rose by over 30 feet before the pressure broke the ice barrier of the glacier and it became Russell Fiord again. If my airport had been there then it would have properly drowned! :agree:
