Orbx Scenery License
Hi chaps.
Although I used to be a regular here, I became somewhat bored of FSX and pretty much stopped flying.
I then got back into it again and purchased a few bits here and there before once again getting bored.
I now fancy leaving FSX behind and trying X Plane 11 but wondered if any of you knew if it's possible to sell/transfer my Orbx license?
I've logged into the website and see that I can change my name, email and password so I guess that pretty much covers a transfer of user.
Finally, is anyone interested in purchasing Orbx FTX Global Base, Global Vector, Open LC Europe and HD trees?
Set me back £158 all in all. Open to offers and hope it's ok posting this.

I fully understand leaving FSX behind, but you could try P3D, then you could actually use your ORBX filesl

Re: Orbx Scenery License
I did research P3D quite a bit but it's not enough of a change for me. I always hated the FSX graphics engine and even with the many add ons FSX has, it just doesn't do it for me.
It's a shame because I bought a gaming laptop just over a year ago, reinstalled FSX-SE and spent quite a bit of money on various things but having tried the X-Plane demo, I just thought I'd see if my FSX bits could fund some X-Plane goodies.

Re: Orbx Scenery License
I honestly think there would be problems selling these products as firstly if you bought and downloaded the software then who-ever buys would have problems in activating them however, if bought as DVD's then this should not cause any difficulties.inally, is anyone interested in purchasing Orbx FTX Global Base, Global Vector, Open LC Europe and HD trees?
Secondly, those at ORBX I find are rather tetchy, one member wrote in once that his father-in-law was having problems with their sceneries and they categorically refused to answer the questions as this member did not own the sceneries himself and that if help was needed then only his father-in-law could ask.
Equally, if any help is required from the Forum then you have to actually show that you have purchased the sceneries by posting the relevant details by your signature i.e. where purchased and order number.
Kind regards
Nigel.

Many support forums work like that Nige. It's done to stop folk who've downloaded the software illegally from torrents getting support for it. Makes sense when you think about it though I agree.. it seems a bit OTT if you've paid for it.

Hi Dave
If you have paid for a product then you should be able to decide on whether or not you wish to, as in the case of Charlie, be able to sell on the product as the producers would already have been paid so basically they would not lose out on genuine re-sale of their products. Personally with the problems I had with FTX Central 3 I am finished buying any more from them as even after posting help on their Forum and others also complaining about it I did not get a satisfactory reply to help me. Ended up re-installing everything and just running ORBX on FTX Central 2.
Regards
Nigel.

Nige, what are you doing to me ;-)
Well, should anyone be interested, you can have the order numbers and everything related to them.

Beg to differ, Nige,
Generally, one pays for a non-transferrable single user right to use the software.
Use is also limited in respect of altering, reverse engineering etc etc.
I actually read a couple of lines of the "I AGREE" fine print once....
or did I just dream it?

Re: Orbx Scenery License
Yup.. I had the very same problem with GenX. Tony sold me his version 1 as he'd had enough with FSX not performing and uninstalled the lot. I tried to register it at Horizon and the shit hit the fan. I needed to register it (and Horizon had my details on record) to qualify for the free update to v2. I didn't realise Tony had already registered v1 (he thought he hadn't) and Horizon basically accused him of theft.. something which didn't go down well with a (then) currently serving Police Officer!!
Many of you will know that I bought FTX England when it came out and uninstalled it after 3 days cause it crapped up my FSX. I've never put it back and will never put it back but as much as I'd like to sell my copy on.. I can't.

TBH Mike I have never read through all that mumbo jumbo before hitting the I agree button, maybe I should.eg to differ, Nige,
