I came across this fix for the current 3rd party hosting problem with Photobucket for Chrome and Firefox browsers.
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... jjgj?hl=en
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... src=search
No idea how long it will last - hence the (Temporary?) in the thread title - but it works with my Chrome browser and I can ow see all those missing avatars and screen shots again.
Pete
Edit - just checked the Firefox link and it doesn't seem to work every time. If it doesn't, just type in "Photobucket embed fix" in the search box on the Firefox addons page and it will come up.

Re: Photobucket (Temporary?) Fix for Chrome and Firefox
Thanks for that Pete, I now have all the images back on the many forums I frequent that had lost images due to Photobucket's actions.
I am using Firefox and your link (as you pointed out) just takes you to the search page but searching for 'Photobucket' does bring up a couple of results and I went with the one by 'dvil' (Photobucket Hotlink Fix 1.2) and it works perfectly.
I was hit by the Photobucket scam and lost all my posted images as I refused to bow to their extortion tactics. I deleted everything I had on there and closed my account (the important shots are still on my HDs, the less important ones are gone forever). I now use Flickr for photos but haven't found a suitable site yet for screenshots. I will find one when I need to post screenshots again but I don't see that happening in the foreseeable future.

Thank you very much for posting this fix, Pete!
It worked like a charm in Firefox.
Using it I was able to revisit an old post I made back in 2008. The post contains comments made by current members as well as from our dear departed friends Dave, Garry, and Ian. Here's the pic which started most of the shenanigans.

The pic shown above belongs on page two right after I wrote The captain of the Adriaen van der Donck. I think he's dancing "the robot".
