Relief

Post by simondix »

I saw the front page of the Birmingham Mail today and I presume it was Tonks. He has managed to get the dismissal overturned. Glad to see that.

Not sure if the dismissal was overturned, but according to the Oxford Mail he was cleared of lying to the investigating team, thereby cleared of perjury.

Whether that means a return to the RAF and flying, who knows? One can only wish Andy all the best for the future.

Did you mean this article, 511Flyer?

http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/151265 ... _nosedive/

That was from 2017. But the Court of Appeal has now decided that the court martial has not explained why he had to be sacked, and therefore this dismissal was overturned. I cannot find a link to the article itself, the news outlets seem to be busy figuring out what to do with snow.

It's good news for Tonks, whether he will go back to fly with the RAF is a question only he can answer. I wish him all the best.
Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.
