COVID

....and yet, this morning, an Opposition Senator was still berating the Victorian Premier about our restrictions. :dunno:
I know from recent posts, that at least some of you do not approve of the UK government telling you what you can and can't do, but I know whose infection rates I prefer.
It also appears that the US Commander-in-Chief cannot read graphs, when he declares that the virus is disappearing.
Cheers, Mike.

I live in the Borough of Elmbridge, which is the only area of Surrey that has gone into level 2.

On the councils website, in answer to a FAQ, they have stated that 14% of local cases are actually University students who are living away from home.

Those students are also being counted as positive cases in the University towns that they are attending. So they are being counted twice.

I have a friend who lives in Oxfordshire, and he has discovered that the same thing is happening there. He was told that students at the Oxford Universities are counted there, and also in the area where they are registered with a GP. Which is presumably close to their home address.

Taking the number of students across the UK, that amounts to false accounting on a grand scale. Easily rectified I would think, and should be!

I can understand your distrust of the figures, Den.
That is insane.

Over here, the boss of the corporate watchdog, ASIC, has stepped aside after spending $118,000 odd on tax advice relating to his relocation from USA to Australia. His deputy is in hot water over nearly $70,000 was paid relating to his move from Sydney to Melbourne.
If this is not criminal, it should be, doesn't matter whether they reimburse the public or not. Would a bank robber be "not guilty" if he gave his proceeds of crime back after being caught?

Now the PM wants to sack the CEO of Australia Post because she gave performance bonuses of $3,000 to a handful of managers. The fact that it was paid in the form of Cartier watches seems to greatly offend the PM.

I am close to losing all my faith in all levels of government. :wall:
