Keith went further, asking about the engines. According to the cutaway index, this is the Tiger IX-engined variant, (MkI) without defining whether they were original Tiger IXs, or the revised 850HP Tiger IXCs. Unfortunately, these proved unreliable as well, resulting in the MkII being fitted with Wright Cyclones rated at 950HP. Unreliability continued, and their career ended with the survivors broken up in 1947.
Production was set back by the call to produce Whitley bombers, btw.
