I think it's just "clueless Twitter Users" if anything considering they're representative of less than 1% of any country's population. Kinda tells you a lot about who uses social media.

Just to be clear, I didn't post the video as an insult to Americans. I was just amazed at what some people believe and in this case it happened to be from the US.

There is an awful lot of mis-information on social media, which gets re-posted multiple times and more and more people believe it (not that I have any social media accounts).
