Westland Scout for MSFS (Local Legend 18 by iniBuilds)

Post by spatialpro »

They tried to keep it under wraps during the most recent Dev Update livestream (because the licensing agreement still has to be finalised) but Local Legend 18 (another by iniBuilds) is destined to be the Westland Scout. They removed the slides from the presentation, but neglected to remove the thumbnail from the Roadmap! Doh!

I am absolutely buzzed (pun!) about this classic British helicopter coming to the sim!

This is very likely to become my go-to helicopter... and you'll be able to find me low-level around the UK or various overseas postings ;)

It also delights me that soon every MS simmer, worldwide, whether PC or Xbox, will soon have heard of the Westland Scout!

Andy

Just the thing to explore this week's GB scenery update.

I don't really do helo's so this may be the first Local Legend I won't get. I do see that the next Famous Flyer will be the Caravelle, which is exciting, and they have delayed the 707 to Famous Flyer XI, a disappointment but glad its still on the road map.

Nice video. I bought the Cowansim 500E in their recent sale, so that might be enough helicopter for me. As for the Caravelle and 707, if they're by Aeroplane Heaven, they'll have to be flawless to even interest me. Great airliners, of course - I just wish someone else was developing them.

looks nicely modelled, but I'm just not a fan of the Marketplace. glad to see something a bit different and British. I'm surprised they didn't go for something like a Wessex though.

I thought there was a Caravelle in development elsewhere?

A Wasp is being released at the same time. So two (albeit effectively the same helicopter) for the price of one.

Re helicopters - I'm a fan and I'm looking forward to the Scout and Wasp but if there's one thing that's guaranteed to crash MSFS on my PC in pretty short order it's a helicopter. I'm running a 2070 GPU and not on particularly high settings but for some reason ii just can't handle MSFS or World of Tanks (even quicker to tank). Considering an upgrade later this year to a 4070, particular as prices seem to have stabilised.

Probably to avoid arguments over whether or not the Wessex is a British local legend or an American one!

😂😂😂 True Skip

I did buy it and its nicely modelled. Glad to see theres no stupid Glass cockpit as standard. Not sure of the sounds, its been a very long time since I’ve heard a Scout for real, so can’t really comment, but for £8 its a nice little aircraft. 😊
