Shambles. Even those that have managed to get in have found all sorts of issues. People who have bought two versions of an airport in marketplace are getting all of the versions overlayed over each other with no way to disable or select which content from marketplace (if any) that you want.

It beggars belief how they could have made such a mess of it. I know the 2020 launch wasn't perfect, but it was nowhere near as bad as this seems to be.
Glad I decided not to jump in early!

Seems to be that most of the problems (not all) are related to the sheer volume of network traffic and server load. Just how a company like Microsoft with its Azure platform could have underestimated that so badly is beyond me. That said so far I have found no bugs other than a group of mid-air floating terrain polygons in a Swiss valley I know very well and the periodic 'Low Bandwidth' problem.

I am very much liking the lighting, weather and general ambience of it. Just got to wait for the usual problem period to be ironed out.

My MSFS2024 refund has just helped me renew my TV license. Mind you, I hope Asobo get this mess sorted soon, because British TV is even more shite.

I just cannot understand the mentality of ASOBO releasing the platform in the way they did. Why on earth did they not release it gradually so that the server did not come under so much strain, I am sure that if some users had to wait an extra day or so to prevent such a disaster as this, they would be quite happy so long as they could use it.

In fairness to Asobo, it was the Microsoft marketing machine that forced the date, and the commercial team weren’t prepared to allow a semi public beta as the did previously. Needless to say there is a massive postmortem mudslinging match going on in Seattle

Thanks for the update Ben and my apologies to ASOBO. :hide:

I was stuck in the endless queue on day 1 but on day 2 I was actually able to get in and did a couple flights, mostly everything worked. It took a long to load up the flight as it was downloading all the components, and once the flight started it still took some time before all the components were downloaded so all the gauges were visible. While the marketplace is not yet up I could see all the aircraft I purchased in the list.

Biggest issue I see is the configuration of the keyboard/controllers. It seams many of the keys are remapped and when I configured some in one aircraft the changes did not show up in the next aircraft I used.

Day 3 here Joe, back from work tonight. Hung on the customise identity screen. Restarted, back in the setup screens (where the controllers show up), then CTD. I’m really glad it only cost me £27 (friend in MS)
