I'll post a new one later today. Trying to get some more repairs in before it rains.

Good attendance this week, including (Gupyzer0), who has been around for a long time, but entered his first Spotter.
According to the book, it was a Vultee Vengeance MkIIa, which doesn't get much of a mention on the web. The US made them for other countries as they were not into dive bombing early in the war. It seems that their designation was A-31 for these aircraft, and when they built for themselves, it became A-35.
RAF and others had MKI, II, III, IV.
Down to business:
PeteP, Mick (woody901), Leonel (Gupyzer0),Ben (TSR2), Simon (simondix) and Joe (blanston12) all won diamond badges. Well done and thanks to all who looked in.

PeteP, Mick (woody901) and Pete (Motormouse) Earned diamond badges this week, by identifying the Douglas Dolphin. It had a very similar appearance to the Saro Cloud.
By total coincidence, those in RAAF service all carried the prefix A35, which was similar to the US designation A-35, of the Vengeance in last week's quiz.

Thanks to all who looked and especially those who entered ;)

Sorry this is late, had a busy day working on the house repairs again.
PeteP, Mick (woody901), Eric (Tomliner), Simon (simondix), Leonel (Gupyzer0)AllanL and Ben (TSR2), all identified the Meteor F8, scoring diamond badges.
AllanL read more about it in his book, and found the actual aircraft, so he gets a Bonus Star.

The complex perspex assembly tied our subject down to a Miles M3 or M4.
Personally, I could not separate the two, so I gave thumbs up to either.
It was actually a Miles M4 Merlin, numbered A37-2, of 1 Communications Flight at Wagga Wagga.
PeteP was first in, and identified it as that very aircraft, picking up a Bonus Star as well as his diamond badge.
Eric (Tomliner) and Keith (Dev One) both received diamonds for their M3 offerings.
Mick (woody901) had a hard time of it, and gets silver for his eventual M3.
The M17 Monarch, and the Nighthawk also received votes, but the rear window shape and in cases, lack of rear window altogether, seemed to count them out. Anyone wishing to prove me wrong on this, is welcome to post their case here.
