1977 Jubilee fly-past

Post by Paul K »

Military aviation was so much more interesting back then.

Nothing seems to even raise an eyebrow with me these days. Maybe the C-17, A400M, and the B-52 with its forthcoming re-engine program, but little else. Airshows at places like RAF Mildenhall were spectacular in the 1980s, but I wouldn't bother getting out of bed now.

I agree with you Paul, all the best ones as far as I am concerned were from the Fifties up to the Seventies.

The last one I went to was at RAF Waddington but even then it had lost all its sparkle for me.

Nowadays I watch the on You Tube including the Farnborough Air shows then there are the fast taxy runs at Bruntingthorpe which I enjoy especially on board cockpit videos.
