Many Happy Returns Chris.
Did you get that 7800XT to solve your problems?
Have a good day.

Thank you all. A somewhat belated reply but I am still alive and kicking. Have been abroad quite a bit in the last year and with no PC to take with me. I'm back in the UK and having tried MSF2024 on a 50Gbps link and binned it I've stuck with MSFS2020. Now have a Quest 3, which is surprisingly good; even in MSFS 2020.

Hi Chris,
Glad to hear that you're OK.
A 50Gbps connection :-O :-O dreams of the future here. Speedtest reports 24Mbps, but actual d/l is nearer 2Mbps :$
May I ask why you binned MS 2024?
Cheers, Mike.

Hi Mike, the internet connection was too slow - even at 50Gbps. It took an age to resolve details and even then some buildings never did fully appear. We are due to get a full fibre connection some time this year so will revisit 2024 then.

Yes, the 7800XT did resolve my problems - no more CTD in 2020. Much relieved.

Re internet speed - Doh! It should read 50Mbps not 50Gbps. Brain not fully caught up with tech.

Hi Chris,
Under the "Fibre to the premises" topic, I've reported that ours is now between 155 and 168 Mbps. It does not result in evrything happening at light speed, but Paul says it puts me in the frame for the recent MSFS releases.
Cheers, Mike.
