What Is Difference, Please?

Post by Aharon »

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

Just notice that there is JustFlight Tristar for FSX at price of 18 bucks and JustFlight Tristar Professional at price of 42 bucks.

What is difference between those payware add on model bases of precisely same aircraft type??

Regards,

Aharon

Hi Aharon.

I can’t remember exactly, but I did buy the non professional one first, and then later upgraded it to the professional. The standard version has the same exterior model, it is only the cockpit that has enhanced panels and more detailed systems. I’ve just had a look and the professional version is on sale at the moment in the UK for £16.99

As Ben says the difference lies in the VC and systems. The regular version is the standard FSX CTRL+E start and go whereas the Pro version is more in-depth and 'realistic' or as real as they could get given the sim limitations. It still wasn't Accusim level complexity but you do have to do things the right way and in the right order.

I've had the base FSX version for years but haven't flown it in ages. I think I did try to get it into P3D v4.5 which is all I fly now but it either didn't want to install to both sims at the same time (i.e. it wanted me to uninstall from FSX before it would allow me to install to P3D) or it wouldn't work in the 64 bit version of P3D because there were a couple of .gau gauges in the panel and P3D won't play with those! It's just in FSX as a result.

TSR2 and TAKO,

Thanks for cool explanations.

I love and am very loyal to Vistaliners L1011s but I need Royal Air Force liveries hence me being forced to think about buying JustFlight Tristar considering the fact nobody paints Royal Air Force liveries on Vistaliners Tristars. I believe Royal Air Force had FOUR different liveries for Tristar. Am I correct?? Also I believe Royal Air Force had weird pink livery for Gulf War. Am I correct? Did RAF Tristars participate in Gulf War?

Regards,

Aharon

A lot of aircraft (both strike aircraft and support aircraft) were painted in 'desert pink' during the Gulf War period.

It turned out to be a very effective camouflage colour especially at dawn and dusk when the aircraft 'disappeared' into the surrounding sand shades.

There were four liveries over the years as can be seen below. Unfortunately the images are very small.

Tako,

Thanks for cool answers. I always thought it would be four different liveries for RAF Tristar but some people say six and JustFlight also says 6 liveries.

Also thanks for letting me know that RAF Tristars did participate in Gulf War.

Smiling

Regards.

Aharon
