Gettin' old
I thought I had a repeat occurrence of tissue growing over my plastic lens, inserted years back due to cataracts.
The optometrist referred me to an eye specialist.
Saw the specialist today, and he confirmed glaucoma, so I'm starting timolol eye drops tonight.
I thought you only got glaucoma if you had diabetes, but apparently not.
Unfortunately, the vision I've lost is permanent, and the damage can only be slowed, not stopped or reversed.

Re: Gettin' old
Really sorry to hear this Mike. I hope the drops work well to give you plenty of time.
Ben.

Re: Gettin' old
Bad news Mike, still I've read before that with the drops the damage can be slowed down a lot, giving plenty of time, just follow the treatment closely

Mike, I'm sorry to read this. If it's any encouragement, my late mother had glaucoma, and by following medical advice and using the eye drops, she got by perfectly well till she died in her nineties. Because it can be hereditary, I am at risk too, and I get a full NHS retinal scan every year. No doubt all of this will be offered to you. Just keep doing what the doctors say, as my mother did, and you'll be okay.
Re: Gettin' old
Yes sorry to hear the news but do as the Doctor ordered and you should be OK

Sorry to hear that Mike, hopefully the treatment is as successful as others have reported. Always do what Nursie says, you know they are right.

Re: Gettin' old
Hi Mike, so sorry to hear about your recent eye problems, at least the opticians are on to it with the prescribed drops and like others, I am sure that by you keeping up with the drops the problem can be slowed and you will be fine.
