There was a DH Venom based at Centennial airport for a while (don't know if it's still there), and the F-86 is powered by a centrifugal-flow turbojet and they do sound different than axial-flow engines, but when at full power, they all sound the same - loud.
I did see the turbofan on the GTBA site and it looks interesting, however I'd like to see it in operation and find out how much thrust it actually produces.
