Nikon makes a real nice 80-400 lens with built in vibration reduction, but it probably costs more than the camera and lens you just bought (its on my wish list).
Or drink less coffee.
Joe,
I looked into the 80 - 400mm lens, as it looked superb by specification.
Several reviews, however stated it to be the slowest focusing Nikon lens they had ever tested - not much use for anything but scenery.
With my 35mm SLR and a 450mm telephoto, I reckon that 90% of my panned shots were ok. Just takes practice and of course with digital there is no developing costs.
