No problems Toby.
The larger Air France looks better on my screen at work.
I quite like seeing/using that size as it is only about 270k.
A grey background seems to make it look more wishy washy!
I am thinking of putting a darker grey line round Fuselage/Tail to make it stand out from white background - will try it later tonight.

Cheers

I stand to be corrected, but isn't the Lions tail a late BCAL design rather than a Caledonian tail?

As an ex-BCAL engineer I don't like the two airlines confused, Caledonian was never BCAL it was justa PR thing after the demise of BCAL.

Caledonian had more to do with "British Airtours" didnt it? Most of the acutal BCal fleet (DC-10, BAC 1-11, A320 orders) were absorbed into BA and the "new" Caledonian got BA 757s and Tristars IIRC, until it was bought out, the 757s went back to BA and they got new build A320s? Dunno what happened to the BCal management/corporate side of things?

Caledonian was a re-badged British Airtours and BCAL in it's entirity was absorbed into BA.

Caledonian tail

Post by amo »

VC10 - Your correct the Caledonian tail lions tail/sword should point to the rear of the aircraft. I haven't had time to tweak it sorry. Do you have any old BCAL logos etc so I can correct my mistake?
I flew in a few BAc1-11's from Edinburgh to LGW in the late 70s/early 80s and also flew from Edinbirgh to Palma in a BCAL BAc1-11-500 in Summer 1982.
Where did you work for them?

Hi amo

Background wise that looks good.

I feel the cockpit windows need to be darker and looking at it, if they matched the windows that would probably do it.

Thanks Garry,
Have changed cockpit windows and have added new Aces, revised BA Landor & Caledonian. Also updated HS748 base drawing.
Will have a look at work tomorrow - hopefully ok.
Have enlarged jpeg to 1000 pixels so best looked at without favourites on.
Cheers

Updated homepage with tails instead of small thumbnails - will now crack on with more A320 liveries!
Thanks for all comments and support.
