From what I have seen they award does not look at the real hours, it looks at the flight hours and divides it by the max time rate. So if you spend 30 minutes at x1 and 3.5 flight hours at 8x they count it as 30 minutes total.

Thanks for that Joe.. I suspected as much :roll: Needless to say, I don't care for it much either as every last minute of my hours shown are real hours/minutes. I believe there is some trade-off in income earned for the VA if you fly x1 (eg.. its reduced if you fly at a higher rate) but it does make a mockery of all the 'high hour - long range' figures. What's a jet jockey going to do if he gets a 'forced error' at x4/x8 e t c?? A bit of a joke me thinks!
