Farnborough 2006 - 56k no no

Post by Charlie Bravo »

Went along to Farnborough yesterday in the extreme heat. Here are the best shots...

Note, these are taken with my Canon S1 IS which is only a 3mp camera. I need to save for a DSLR.

Some really cool shots there.

Funnily enough, I was flying the A340 in those colours at Farnbourgh a few weeks back on FS2004.

Chris, even though I have 56k but could not resist having a look, it was well worth the loooong wait!!! The sixth photograph of the A340 as it banks to the left with gear retracting really shows off the size of the aircraft..... brilliant, thanks for the photos.

Regards Nigel.

Thanks for posting those - looks like it gets off the ground quite quickly and similarly lands in quite a short distance (for something of that size)? Looks incredibly sluggish in the air though

That'll be a 51 Sqn one based out of RAF Waddington, kinda like an RAF EC-135 ELINT i do believe, not sure if the engines are uprated though but last year me and a m8 sat at the north end of the display line and the old girl (with a lot of noise i might add, more than i remember at St Mawgan) was airbourne and climbing for the stars well before she disappeared behind waddingtons hump lol
