I got my policy renewal from NU last week..... £1298.99 with a £520 excess.... much the same as last year. Thats for a 25 year old with 1 year NCB on a Peugeot 306 1.9TD.
Anyway, having shopped around I've now gone with Quinn Direct. £749.22 with £130 excess. Bargain
A bird in the hand will probably sh!t on your wrist.
That sounds pretty steep either way CB, you're a couple of years older than me and your car isnt likely to be a great deal quicker than mine and certainly no bigger and I got my first ever policy last year with More Than for about £600 including breakdown cover and I could have saved more if I had bought online.

I don't think that performance is a major factor anymore Toby. My insurance company told me it's the desirability to theives and cost of replacement parts that are the real factors.
Desirability is very probably a major factor as Fournier pointed out. No disrespect Toby but park a 306 1.9TD next to a Rover 45 and the Pug is gonna get knicked every time mate. The 1.9TD is a good engine in it's own right and worth taking let alone attached to 4 wheels and a body
There's also the probability that insurance companies see 1.9 litre turbo plus 25 year old driver equals boy racer and charge accordingly! The fact that it's a diesel makes no difference.
